DAHOD: A police official's son was booked for alleged bigamy, dowry harassment and threatening to kill his wife in Dahod on Tuesday. His father, stationed at Godhra headquarters, has also been accused of torturing his daughter-in-law. Vimla Vankar, residing in Pankaj Society in Godhra, filed the complaint at Dahod police station on Tuesday. In it, she has accused her husband Kirit Pateliya of regularly harassing her for Rs 2 lakh dowry, Dahod police said. Vimla has also accused Kirit of bigamy and accused his father Mahesh and other family members of torturing her. According to the complaint, Kirit recently married another woman, Trupti, and threatened Vimla of dire consequences if she ever talked about it or tried to stop him. Unable to bear the physical and mental torture, Vimla returned to her parents' home in Dahod and lodged the complaint.
